Quote of the Day
“Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” — Barack Obama

As we mark another anniversary of September 11, 2001, our community comes together to remember the lives lost on that fateful day. We honor the nearly 3,000 victims who perished in the attacks, as well as the countless first responders who selflessly ran toward danger, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. The tragedy forever changed our nation, but it also revealed the resilience, unity, and compassion within us.
Today, we reflect not just on the loss, but on the strength we found in each other. From coast to coast, we remember those who were taken too soon, keeping their memories alive through acts of kindness, love, and remembrance. In the face of adversity, we continue to carry their legacy forward, united as one. Never forget.

New EPA Partnership Opens Doors for Bowie State Students
On September 10, 2024, Bowie State University and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a significant step toward advancing environmental justice and education. This partnership aims to enhance collaboration on research, internships, and workforce development, providing Bowie State students with hands-on opportunities to engage in critical environmental initiatives.
EPA Administrator Michael Regan and Bowie State President Dr. Aminta Breaux highlighted the importance of this agreement in preparing the next generation of diverse environmental leaders. The MOU emphasizes the shared commitment to tackling environmental challenges, particularly those impacting underserved communities.
With this new alliance, Bowie State continues to position itself at the forefront of innovation, preparing students to lead in a greener, more sustainable future while addressing real-world environmental issues.
