Guiding Growth: The Role of Prince George's County Planning Board
Ever wondered how development in Prince George’s County works? The Prince George's County Planning Board is a vital entity within Maryland, responsible for shaping the county’s future through strategic planning and development oversight. Tasked with guiding land use, the board reviews development proposals, ensuring they align with the county’s master plan, which aims to foster sustainable growth and vibrant communities. Their responsibilities include evaluating zoning changes, subdivision applications, and site plans. Additionally, the board oversees public amenities such as parks and recreational facilities, balancing development with environmental preservation. By facilitating public hearings and engaging with community stakeholders, the Planning Board ensures that residents' voices are integral to the decision-making process, fostering a collaborative approach to building a dynamic and livable Prince George's County.

Five Tips to Protect Yourself Against Jugging
In recent times, the phenomenon known as "jugging" has become a growing concern in many communities. Jugging involves criminals following unsuspecting victims from banks or ATMs to their next destination to steal large amounts of cash or valuables. Here are five essential tips to protect yourself from becoming a victim of jugging:
1. Be Aware of Your Surroundings
Always stay vigilant when leaving a bank or ATM. Look around for anyone who seems to be lingering or paying too much attention to you. If you notice anything suspicious, do not hesitate to report it to the bank security or local authorities.
2. Vary Your Routine
Avoid routine behaviors that could make you an easy target. Change the times and routes you take when visiting banks or ATMs. This unpredictability can help deter criminals who might be watching for patterns.
3. Use Discreet Methods of Carrying Cash
Instead of carrying large amounts of cash visibly, use discreet methods. Consider using a money belt or an inside pocket to keep your cash hidden. If possible, avoid withdrawing large sums altogether and opt for electronic transactions.
4. Travel with a Companion
When possible, bring a trusted friend or family member along when you need to withdraw significant amounts of money. There is safety in numbers, and having someone with you can deter potential criminals.
5. Head Directly to a Safe Place
After making a withdrawal, go directly to a safe and secure location. If you suspect you are being followed, do not go home. Instead, drive to the nearest police station or a crowded public place where you can seek help and feel safe.
By following these tips, you can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of jugging. Stay alert, be cautious, and prioritize your safety at all times.
