Bowie Sports Fields in High Demand Across Prince George's County

The sports fields in the City of Bowie are among the most sought-after in Prince George's County. These fields are primarily reserved for youth and adult leagues and school programs after school and during evening hours, with limited availability. Organized groups, leagues, and schools are required to obtain permits to use the athletic fields, which are generally issued on a quarterly basis. In addition to the city's fields, the Prince George's County Board of Education and the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission also offer public fields for use in Bowie.

Bowie Baysox Secure 3-0 Victory Against Hartford Yard Goats

The Bowie Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 3-0 on Saturday night at Prince George’s Stadium. Pitchers Alex Pham, Cameron Weston, and Keagan Gillies combined for a four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks. This win, Bowie’s first after the All-Star Break, ended a three-game losing streak.

Samuel Basallo’s RBI groundout started the scoring in the first inning. The Baysox added runs in the fifth and eighth innings through a wild pitch and Silas Ardoin’s single, respectively. Pham pitched four scoreless innings with six strikeouts, while Weston earned the win with four scoreless innings of relief.

The Baysox will wrap up their series against Hartford tomorrow at 1:05 pm with various family-friendly events planned.
