Quote of the Day
“When you give joy to other people, you get more joy in return. You should give a good thought to the happiness that you can give out.” —Eleanor Roosevelt

Bowie’s Pet Pick-Up Program: Get Alerts and Updates Instantly
When a Bowie Animal Control Officer picks up a lost pet and cannot locate the owner, they post the pet’s description, photograph, and additional information on the Animal Control Facebook page. If a City Animal Control Officer is unavailable, Prince George’s County Animal Control takes over, and the pets they pick up can be viewed on the Pet Harbor website.
Pet Pick-Up Alerts
Pet owners can sign up for Pet Pick-Up Alerts through Alert Bowie 2.0. Subscribers receive alerts with descriptions of found pets, directing them to the Bowie Animal Control Facebook page for more details and photos.
To register or update your Alert Bowie account, visit Alert Bowie 2.0. This free service ensures you're always informed. For assistance, call 301-809-3032.

Reporting Crime in Bowie: Easy Ways to Share Tips
Submitting crime tips in the City of Bowie is straightforward and crucial for community safety. Residents can share information anonymously through multiple channels. The Bowie Police Department encourages tips via their official website, where a dedicated form allows users to detail suspicious activities or crimes.
For those preferring to call, the Bowie Police Department’s non-emergency number is available for reporting tips. Anonymity is maintained to protect the identity of the informant. In cases requiring immediate attention, dialing 911 is essential. By actively participating and reporting crime tips, residents contribute to a safer Bowie, fostering a community where everyone looks out for one another.

Exciting Win for Baysox: Heid and Henzman Lead the Charge
The Bowie Baysox secured a second straight one-run victory, edging out the Reading Fightin’ Phils 3-2 at FirstEnergy Stadium. Silas Ardoin drove in all three runs for the Baysox, with an RBI groundout in the second inning and a two-run single in the fourth. Bowie starter Seth Johnson pitched four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out four. Dylan Heid earned the win, striking out four in two relief innings. Lincoln Henzman secured his first save with two scoreless innings. Frederick Bencosme extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Bowie continues its series against Reading on Friday night. Upcoming promotions include Kids Cheer Free, Military Appreciation Night, and an Independence Day Celebration. For tickets, call 301-805-6000 or visit Baysox.com.

Unlocking Adventure: The Joy of Reading with Toddlers
Reading with toddlers is not just educational; it's an adventure! Early reading sets the stage for academic success and sparks imagination. Picture this: a simple bedtime story turns into a journey to far-off lands, with your toddler as the hero. Books introduce new words, building vocabulary and language skills effortlessly.
Storytime also strengthens the parent-child bond, creating cozy moments full of giggles and wonder. Toddlers learn to focus and listen, boosting attention spans for future learning. Plus, the colorful pictures and playful tales make learning fun and engaging.
Early literacy skills also help toddlers express themselves better and understand emotions. Encouraging your toddler to read paves the way for a bright future and a lifelong love for books.
Take your toddler to the Bowie and South Bowie Libraries for the Ready to Read programs that we list in our weekly calendar of events.
