Baysox Edge Out Curve with Stellar Pitching and Timely Hitting

The Bowie Baysox, the Double-A team of the Baltimore Orioles, secured a narrow 3-2 victory over the Altoona Curve, affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates, at Prince George’s Stadium on Tuesday night. Bowie (32-31) showcased stellar pitching, marking their second consecutive win. Starting pitcher Cameron Weston led with five hitless innings, walking just one batter. Weston eventually allowed one infield single and exited in the sixth inning with bases loaded, yet he achieved eight strikeouts. Reliever Dan Hammer (W, 2-0) limited the damage, allowing two unearned runs but delivering 1.2 scoreless innings. Collin Burns’ early two-run homer had initially given Bowie the lead. After Altoona tied the game in the sixth, Burns' leadoff walk in the seventh set the stage for Jud Fabian’s sacrifice fly, securing Bowie’s decisive run. Closer Dylan Heid (S, 5) sealed the win with a stress-free final two innings. With this victory, Bowie maintains a strong team ERA and remains competitive in the Eastern League Southwest division. The Baysox continue their series against Altoona on Wednesday night.
