Bowie State MBA Student's Leadership Journey with Apple

Bowie State University student Brandon Williams graduated with an MBA from the College of Business, having spent the past two years as an Apple Senior Campus Leader. During his time at Bowie State, he introduced Apple's products to students and faculty, helping them utilize new apps and services to enhance their learning.

In 2022, while starting his MBA, Williams became an Apple Campus Leader, distributing iPads across campus and organizing workshops on using Apple tools. By fall 2023, he was promoted to Apple Senior Campus Leader, managing six students at various universities.

Williams credits his leadership growth to Apple’s coaching and support, as well as guidance from professor Kavita Kapur. Balancing his MBA and work was challenging, but enriching, with experiences in entrepreneurship and networking shaping his career aspirations. Beyond academics, Williams is also a musician, spreading positivity through his compositions on major streaming platforms.

The Bowie Police Department will participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) for Special Olympics and you can too. This is an initiative designed to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement. Founded in 1981 by Wichita Police Chief Richard LaMunyon, LETR has grown into the largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness campaign for Special Olympics. Each year, law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope® through cities worldwide, culminating in major events such as the Special Olympics World Games. LETR's activities include various fundraising events like T-shirt sales, corporate partnerships, and unique events like the Polar Plunge®. With over 97,000 law enforcement volunteers in 46 countries, LETR has raised more than $674 million, providing support and encouragement to Special Olympics athletes globally.

Bowie participants are asked to meet at Bowie Plaza, 6796 Laurel Bowie Road by 8:00 AM. There is a $20 entry fee. The run will begin at 9 AM.
