Mental Health Resources in Bowie & 2K Mental Health Awareness Walk

On May 30, 2024 at 5:00PM, Bowie, Maryland will host the 2K Mental Health Awareness Walk, a community event aimed at raising awareness and promoting mental health. The walk will take place at Allen Pond Park, starting at 9:00 AM, and will feature guest speakers, informational booths, and wellness activities. Participants are encouraged to wear green to show support for mental health awareness. The walk is free and open to the public. Register Here.

Bowie State University Welcomes Wanda Durant as Commencement Speaker

Wanda Durant, mother of NBA superstar Kevin Durant, will deliver the commencement address at Bowie State University's graduation ceremony on May 24 at Bulldog Stadium. Known as "Mama Durant," she is the president of the Durant Family Charitable Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of at-risk youth from low-income backgrounds through educational, athletic, and social programs.

Bowie State University selected Ms. Durant for her ability to inspire and motivate.
