“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching, Love like you’ll never be hurt, Sing like there’s nobody listening, And live like it’s heaven on earth.” ~ William W. Purkey

Join Bowie’s Movement: Neighbors Helping Neighbors Makes a Difference

Bowie’s "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" program stands as a beacon of communal strength and kindness. Here, residents embody the true essence of neighborhood spirit, coming together to uplift and support one another through thick and thin.
Whether it's helping an elderly neighbor with yard work, offering rides to those without transportation, or organizing food drives for families in need, the residents of Bowie demonstrate time and again that together, they can make a profound impact. The program not only assists those in immediate need but also knits the community closer, fostering friendships and understanding across different walks of life.
Every action, big or small, sends a powerful message of hope and solidarity. Through Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Bowie has transformed the simple concept of lending a hand into a vibrant, ongoing movement of care and empathy. It's a reminder that in Bowie, nobody is a stranger, and every resident is part of a larger, caring family. Let's keep the spirit alive: neighbor helping neighbor, heart touching heart.

Keep Your Furry Friends Safe: Celebrate Pet ID Week

Pet ID Week is an essential observance that shines a spotlight on the importance of pet identification. Every year, countless pets go missing, and proper identification can be the key to their safe return. During this week, pet owners are encouraged to ensure their animals have up-to-date ID tags and are microchipped. Microchipping is a simple, relatively painless process that can significantly increase the chances of a lost pet being reunited with its owner. Veterinarians and pet advocacy groups often offer discounts on microchipping services during Pet ID Week. Additionally, the week serves as a reminder to check that all registration information is current and accurate. Pet owners are also advised to consider other forms of identification, such as GPS collars, which can track a pet’s location in real time. Celebrating Pet ID Week helps raise awareness about these vital tools, helping to keep our beloved pets safe and secure.
