Experience the Legacy of Willie Pearl McKay King and Her Connection to Dr. King’s "Letter from Birmingham Jail"

Willie Pearl McKay King was a member of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s executive staff from 1962 to 1966, where she notably typed his renowned "Letter from Birmingham Jail" using scraps of paper, including newspaper edges, napkins, and toilet paper. Although Willie Pearl and Dr. King share the same last name, they are not related.

Her forthcoming speech in Bowie is highly anticipated, presenting a unique opportunity for the community to engage with the history and teachings of the civil rights era.
