Harvard Educators Team Up with PGCPS to Drive Innovation in Public Education

The 13th Doctoral Leadership Cohort at Harvard Graduate School of Education has teamed up with Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) in a significant collaboration. This partnership aims to improve educational and operational methods and is a component of the Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) Program. The collaboration includes 18 experienced public education leaders and educators working in tandem with PGCPS's department heads in various sectors such as Schools, Support & Leadership, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Career & Technical Education.

Each PGCPS department has set distinct project objectives. The Office of Schools is working on strategies to better support the growing population of English Language Learners and to diversify its staff. The Human Resources department is exploring creative approaches to keep top staff and educators. The Career and Technical Education department is broadening apprenticeship opportunities to boost student completion rates. Furthermore, the Information Technology department plans to launch AI initiatives, including a virtual AI Chatbot on the PGCPS website, to enhance customer service and effectively handle routine inquiries.
