Today is our 100th issue of the Bowie Insider!  

Thank you for joining us on this journey that started at the beginning of this year. In preparing to celebrate this issue, I got a little ahead of myself and sent out a draft newsletter, apologies. The good news is that I didn’t spoil the surprise.

The Bowie Insider was born to share the goodness of Bowie. As a member of this community since 2000, I wanted to ensure that we all are enjoying the goodness of Bowie because at times it feels like the not so good news tries to overshadow the good that is going on in our city.

As I have said before, we don’t live in Mayberry or Wakanda, we live in Bowie. We are not a perfect city and have challenges like any other city. However, the Bowie Insider will mostly let the other news outlets handle that kind of news. And from the warm reception that we have received from the thousands in the community members who receive the Bowie Insider each morning, we believe that you agree.

As we move forward on this journey, we will start publishing the Bowie Insider Monday through Friday while still ensuring that you have the latest event updates for the weekend. Thanks to everyone who responded to our survey question.

Please continue to reach out to share your events, local heroes and business spotlights. Now that the weather is starting to change, we are looking forward to seeing you at upcoming events and activities in and around Bowie.
