Start the School Year Off Right at Bowie's Back-to-School Bash

The first day of school is just around the corner, and the City of Bowie is helping local families get ready with its annual Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the City of Bowie Gymnasium.
Children ages 4 to 10 can enjoy a fun-filled morning of activities while receiving free school supplies to help them start the new school year with confidence. Available items include new book bags, composition books, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, calculators, and scissors, while supplies last.
Want to help? Community members are encouraged to donate new school supplies to support local students. Every backpack, notebook, or box of crayons can make a meaningful difference.
It's a great opportunity to come together as a community, have fun, and help ensure Bowie students are ready for a successful school year. We hope to see you there!
BowiePulse™ Results
We ask one meaningful question about life here in Bowie. Sometimes it'll be fun. Sometimes it'll be serious. But it will always reflect what matters most to the people who live here.
The question of the week was:
If the City could improve just ONE thing this year, what would you choose?
“Improve roads and repair potholes” squeaked out “Dining options” by one vote. “Attract more shopping” came in third place by one vote over fourth place “Reduce traffic congestion”.
Feedback included: “We have very few restaurants for a city the size of Bowie” and “Need more sit down independent nonchain restaurants.”
BowiePulse™ Question of the Week
Place your vote, forward to friends and family members and ask them to place their vote too.
