National Safety Month: A Reminder for Bowie Residents

June is National Safety Month, a time to focus on simple habits that help keep our families, neighborhoods, and community safe. As Bowie residents enjoy summer activities, travel, parks, and community events, it's a great opportunity to review everyday safety practices. Whether at home, on the road, or around town, taking a few preventive steps can make a big difference.

Top 5 Safety Tips for Bowie Residents:

  • Slow down and stay alert when driving, especially in residential neighborhoods and parks.

  • Lock doors and vehicles and remove valuables from plain sight.

  • Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries if needed.

  • Stay hydrated and watch for signs of heat-related illness during outdoor activities.

  • Report suspicious activity and safety concerns promptly to local authorities.

A safer Bowie starts with small actions taken by all of us. Let's work together to keep our community safe and thriving this summer.
