National Safety Month: A Reminder for Bowie Residents
June is National Safety Month, a time to focus on simple habits that help keep our families, neighborhoods, and community safe. As Bowie residents enjoy summer activities, travel, parks, and community events, it's a great opportunity to review everyday safety practices. Whether at home, on the road, or around town, taking a few preventive steps can make a big difference.
Top 5 Safety Tips for Bowie Residents:
Slow down and stay alert when driving, especially in residential neighborhoods and parks.
Lock doors and vehicles and remove valuables from plain sight.
Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries if needed.
Stay hydrated and watch for signs of heat-related illness during outdoor activities.
Report suspicious activity and safety concerns promptly to local authorities.
A safer Bowie starts with small actions taken by all of us. Let's work together to keep our community safe and thriving this summer.
