Community Garden Plots Open in Bowie

Bowie residents looking to grow their own fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs can now reserve space in the City of Bowie’s Community Garden program. Community garden plots provide a great opportunity for gardeners of all experience levels to enjoy fresh produce, connect with neighbors, and spend time outdoors.

The program encourages healthy living, sustainability, and community engagement while giving residents access to dedicated gardening space throughout the growing season. Whether you are an experienced gardener or trying it for the first time, the community gardens offer a welcoming environment to learn and grow.

Plots are available on a first come, first served basis while space lasts. Residents interested in participating are encouraged to apply early to secure a spot and begin planning their garden for the season.

Programs Help Bowie Residents Build Digital Skills

Bowie residents interested in improving their technology skills can take advantage of free local programs aimed at closing the digital divide. The South Bowie Library’s Computer Basics: Open Lab program provides hands-on learning opportunities for anyone wanting to become more confident using computers and navigating today’s technology-driven world. Participants can strengthen their skills week by week in a supportive environment.

In addition, the Bowie Library’s Technology Help sessions offer personalized assistance from student volunteers for a variety of everyday technology needs. Residents can receive help with online job applications, learning English through digital resources, accessing online services, and using devices more effectively. Registration is encouraged, though some appointments may be available on a first come, first served basis. Together, these programs help residents of all ages stay connected, informed, and digitally empowered.
