Skate, Play, and Connect: Bowie’s Family Mental Health Event

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Bowie is marking it with a fun and meaningful community event. Youth and Family Services, in partnership with Prince George’s Mental Health, will host the “Come Out n’ Play” event at the Bowie Ice Arena on May 1 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

This free, family-friendly event supports Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month by connecting families, caregivers, and advocates with local mental health resources for children. Attendees can explore a resource fair featuring vendors both inside and outside the arena, while enjoying games, activities, pizza, and free ice skating.

The event also focuses on raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting available support services. All attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and registration is required to attend.

Save the Date: Bowie’s Bike to Work Day Pit Stop Returns May 15

The City of Bowie will host a pit stop at Bowie City Hall from 7:00am to 10:30am.
