New Art Exhibit Now on Display at Bowie City Hall

Art lovers, creatives, and community supporters are invited to experience something truly inspiring at Bowie City Hall. The City of Bowie Arts Committee proudly presents “Embracing My Artistic Journey,” a vibrant new gallery exhibition on display now through May 15.

This dynamic exhibit celebrates creativity, self-expression, and the courage it takes to grow as an artist. Featuring a diverse collection of works across styles and mediums, the showcase offers visitors a meaningful glimpse into each artist’s evolving voice, perspective, and personal story. From bold visual statements to reflective pieces filled with emotion and depth, the exhibition highlights the beauty of artistic transformation.

Bring Kwanzaa to Life in Bowie – Submit Your Design Bowie’s Kwanzaa Kinara Public Art Project

The City of Bowie is inviting artists to submit proposals for a durable, contemporary Kwanzaa Kinara sculpture that will be proudly displayed each year at the Bowie Senior Center.

This exciting public art opportunity seeks a design that beautifully honors the cultural symbolism of Kwanzaa and thoughtfully represents all seven principles of the Nguzo Saba — unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. The goal is a bold, modern piece that reflects the spirit, strength, and diversity of our Bowie community.

The selected artist will receive a commission of up to $25,000 to bring their vision to life. Questions must be submitted by 11:00am on February 20, and completed proposals are due by 11:00am on April 21.

This is your chance to leave a meaningful artistic legacy in Bowie. ✨
