Brightseat Tech Park Update

The Brightseat Tech Park data center project in Prince George's County is currently on hold due to a temporary pause on permits and applications by County Executive Aisha Braveboy's executive order. This follows public opposition to the project due to environmental and community concerns, leading to a six-month hold while a task force studies data center development. The project, by Bright-

The project slated for Landover, Maryland, where developers propose turning the long-abandoned Landover Mall into Brightseat Tech Park—a $5 billion data center campus across 87 acres. If approved, the project would feature five data centers consuming up to 820 megawatts of power, making it one of the region’s largest tech infrastructure hubs.
