Warming Centers in Prince George’s County
In response to the recent extreme cold weather, Prince George's County has activated multiple warming centers to provide residents with safe, heated spaces. These centers are open daily until conditions improve, offering seating and shelter from the frigid temperatures. Locations are throughout Prince George’s County. Residents are encouraged to check on vulnerable neighbors and direct them to these facilities.

Bowie Residents Invited to Join 13-Week Citizens’ Police Academy

The City of Bowie is offering an engaging opportunity for residents to gain insight into the workings of local law enforcement through its 13-week Citizens’ Police Academy. The program is designed to educate participants about various aspects of police operations and the broader criminal justice system.
The course includes interactive classes and guided discussions led by police officers and criminal justice professionals. Attendees will explore a range of topics, including internal investigations, tactical training techniques, judgment-enhanced training, citizen and police interaction, and media relations.
