“Love the giver more than the gift." — Brigham Young

Merry Christmas
This holiday season, the city of Bowie shines brighter than ever, with homes aglow in twinkling lights and neighborhoods alive with festive cheer. From the historic Belair Mansion to Allen Pond Park, Bowie’s heart beats with a spirit of togetherness that warms even the chilliest of December nights.
As we gather with loved ones to celebrate the joys of the season, let’s take a moment to appreciate the incredible community that makes Bowie so special. Whether it’s through supporting local businesses, attending holiday events, or simply sharing a smile with a neighbor, our collective spirit is what makes Christmas in Bowie unforgettable.
May your day be filled with love, laughter, and a touch of holiday magic.
Lace Up Your Skates: Bowie Ice Arena Reopens December 27
The City of Bowie Ice Arena is set to reopen on December 27, 2024, marking the beginning of its 53rd skating season. One of Bowie’s fun community hubs has been a cornerstone for ice enthusiasts since its opening in 1971, offering programs for skaters of all ages and skill levels. The reopening follows a temporary closure due to mechanical repairs, and the community eagerly anticipates the return of public skating sessions, lessons, and special events. The arena is home to the Bowie Figure Skating Club, Bowie Hockey Club, and the Bowie High School Ice Dogs, among others. As the holiday season unfolds, the ice arena's reopening promises a festive and invigorating experience for families and skating aficionados alike. For more information on schedules and programs, visit the City of Bowie's official website.
City of Bowie Launches Survey for Old Town Revitalization
The City of Bowie invites community members to take part in the 2024-2025 Old Town Bowie Revitalization Project Survey. Open until January 31, the survey seeks input on improving the historic neighborhood, including its businesses, events, and community features. Feedback will guide efforts to make Old Town Bowie a vibrant destination for all.
