Leadership Selection for Prince George’s School Board Moved to December 5

The Prince George’s County Board of Education has rescheduled its leadership election and the swearing-in of newly elected members to December 5. Originally planned for December 1, the delay allows for better preparation as the board transitions into a new term.

The election will determine the board’s chair and vice chair, key positions responsible for guiding policies in one of Maryland’s largest school districts. The postponement ensures all board members, including those newly elected, can participate effectively in this pivotal decision-making process.

This delay comes as the board prepares to address critical issues facing the district, such as improving student outcomes, managing resources, and implementing strategic plans.
