Bowie Baysox Reintroduce Themselves as Chesapeake Baysox

The Bowie Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles since 1993, has rebranded as the Chesapeake Baysox to emphasize its connection to the broader Chesapeake Bay region. The team unveiled its new identity at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis, reflecting a commitment to its regional fan base while maintaining its roots at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie. This shift recognizes the Chesapeake Bay region's vast reach, spanning parts of six states and Washington, D.C., and positions the team as a unifying symbol of regional pride. Despite the name change, the Baysox remain dedicated to honoring Bowie’s legacy and community spirit. The rebranding celebrates a growing family of supporters while reinforcing the team's longstanding connection to the area's traditions and culture. Team owner Greg Baroni highlighted this balance, emphasizing Bowie's continued role as the cherished home of the Chesapeake Baysox.
