Bowie’s Complete Streets: A Safer, Greener Way to Travel

Bowie is committed to its Complete Streets initiative, a plan to design city streets that are safe, accessible, and convenient for all types of transportation. The initiative prioritizes pedestrians, cyclists, and public transportation users, alongside drivers, to create a balanced and inclusive network. Complete Streets aims to improve safety, reduce traffic congestion, and promote healthier, environmentally friendly ways to travel around the city. Through enhancements like wider sidewalks, protected bike lanes, improved crosswalks, and accessible transit stops, Bowie is working to ensure residents of all ages and abilities can navigate the city comfortably and safely. The initiative also supports Bowie's environmental goals by encouraging walking and cycling, which reduce emissions. The Complete Streets program highlights Bowie’s dedication to creating a sustainable, connected, and livable city for everyone.

The Complete Streets is November 7 at 6:00 in City Hall Council Chambers.
