The City of Bowie Police Department partnered with Fountain Community Enrichment Inc. to host an annual grocery giveaway, benefiting local residents. Held at Police Headquarters, the event brought together officers and community members in a show of support and service. Officers assisted in distributing groceries to families in need, ensuring that everyone left with essential items to help ease the burden of food insecurity.

Women’s Flag Football Coming to the CIAA in 2025
The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) is set to launch a women’s flag football program in spring 2025, marking an exciting new chapter for women’s collegiate sports. This initiative will provide female athletes with more opportunities to compete at a high level, while also expanding the range of sports offered by the CIAA.
Flag football, growing in popularity across the country, will bring fresh energy to the CIAA’s athletic landscape, giving young women a chance to showcase their athleticism, teamwork, and passion for the game. The league plans to partner with the NFL to help promote and develop the program, further boosting its visibility and support.
This new addition reflects the CIAA’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and growth within women’s sports, providing more opportunities for student-athletes to thrive both on and off the field.
