Bowie Offers Art and Education Grants; Apply by 5:00pm on September 20
The City of Bowie is offering Art, Education, and Outreach Grants to support local initiatives that enhance community engagement through creative and educational projects. These grants are available to individuals, community groups, and nonprofit organizations seeking funding for programs that promote artistic expression, learning opportunities, or outreach efforts that benefit residents. The grant program encourages projects that foster a sense of community, celebrate diversity, or expand access to the arts and education. Applicants are urged to submit their proposals by the deadline of September 20 to be considered for funding. Uncover the Secrets of Native Berries with Gardening Expert Terry
A local gardening enthusiast, Terry and Buffy, will be hosting an informative seminar on native berry bushes, offering a unique opportunity to learn about various types of edible berries and how to enjoy them. The seminar will cover a wide range of native shrubs, including Aronia, Beautyberry, Huckleberry, and others, while Terry will share insights on how to identify the best pick-and-eat berries.
Participants will also gain practical tips on how to use these berries in homemade jams, jellies, and other delicious recipes. This event is perfect for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of native plants and enhancing their garden with edible options.
