Participate in Designing Hansel & Gretel Park’s New Playground

Help Design the Hansel & Gretel Playground! The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is calling on residents near Hansel & Gretel Park (15810 Pointer Ridge Drive) to participate in shaping the new playground. Share your thoughts on design, play equipment options, and color schemes that would delight the children in your community. Complete the survey at this link by July 31. Your input will help create a fun and engaging play space for local kids to enjoy!

Groove to the Best of Jazz and R&B at the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival

The 14th annual Lake Arbor Jazz Festival, one of the DMV region’s premier jazz events, returns to the scenic Lake Arbor community in Central Prince George’s County. This festival features top contemporary and traditional jazz, and R&B artists from across the nation and Washington, DC. Enjoy a day filled with dynamic jazz talent in a relaxed setting. Performers include Brass Attack featuring Willie Bradley, Rob Zinn, and Johnny Britt; The Queens of Soul featuring Althea Rene and Jeannette Harris; Let It Flow Band; and Jazz, Funk, Soul featuring Everette Harp, Jeff Lorber, and Paul Jackson, Jr. Headlining are trumpeter Rick Braun and saxophonist Richard Elliott. Enjoy free parking, over 40 vendors, an on-site beer and wine lounge, and live music all day. Both general admission and VIP tickets are available.
